Minecraft Trailer Brief — [Your Server Name] — [Date]
1
Server Name & Type
Your server's full name, primary gamemode(s), and IP address (if live or in beta).

Server name: [e.g. ArcadiaMC]

Primary gamemode(s): [e.g. Survival, Earth SMP, Factions, Skyblock, Custom RPG]

Server IP: [e.g. play.arcadiamc.net] — or "Not live yet"

Version: [e.g. 1.21.x, Bedrock/Java/both]

2
What Makes This Server Unique
The one thing — or the combination of things — that genuinely sets your server apart from others with the same gamemode. Be honest and specific. "Better staff team" is not an answer. "A fully custom progression system where players build political factions that affect the server economy" is.

[Describe your server's core unique angle in 2–4 sentences. What can a player do here that they can't do on other servers?]

3
Target Player Profile
Who is this trailer trying to reach? The more specific you can be, the better the creative decisions will be.

Age range: [e.g. 16–25]

Experience level: [e.g. veteran players, casual players, both]

What servers they've likely come from: [e.g. Hypixel, Mineplex, smaller community servers]

What they're looking for: [e.g. competitive PvP, community building, exploration, economy gameplay, roleplay]

Geographic focus: [e.g. Global English-speaking, North American, European]

4
Trailer Purpose
What is this specific trailer for? Different purposes need different approaches.

Type: [Launch trailer / Season reset / Update announcement / Event / Short-form discovery content]

Opening date or go-live date: [Date or "TBD"]

What should happen after someone watches this? [e.g. Join our Discord, note down the IP, vote on our listing page, pre-register]

5
Key Features to Highlight
List 5–8 features or experiences that define your server. Write them as player experiences, not plugin names. Rank them if you can — the most important one first.

1. [Most important feature or experience — e.g. "Fully custom RPG quest system with branching storylines"]

2. [e.g. "Player-driven economy with custom market and auction house"]

3. [e.g. "Handcrafted spawn and world terrain — no default generation"]

4. [e.g. "Season-long progression that carries over between resets in the form of unlocks"]

5. [e.g. "Active Discord community with weekly events and staff-run lore drops"]

6. [Optional: additional feature]

7. [Optional: additional feature]

8. [Optional: additional feature]

6
Tone & Style
How should this trailer feel? Choose from the examples or describe in your own words. Include reference videos if you have them — links to trailers from other servers or games that capture the feeling you're going for.

Overall tone: [e.g. Epic and cinematic / High-energy and hype / Dark and mysterious / Warm and community-focused / Fast-paced and competitive]

Visual style: [e.g. Sweeping cinematics / Fast-cut gameplay / Build showcase + voiceover / Mix of both]

Reference trailers or videos I like: [Paste links, or describe what you liked about them]

Any other style notes: [e.g. We want lore narration / We want no voiceover / We want gameplay over builds]

7
Music Direction
Music does more work in a trailer than almost anything else. Give the producer as much direction as you can. Reference tracks are incredibly helpful.

Preferred genre/feel: [e.g. Orchestral/cinematic / Electronic/hype / Ambient/atmospheric / Hybrid/trailer music]

Energy level: [e.g. Starts calm, builds to a drop / High energy throughout / Emotional and restrained]

Reference tracks (YouTube or Spotify links): [Paste links to songs that feel right — even if they're not Minecraft-related]

Music we want to avoid: [e.g. Anything too generic / Anything that sounds like royalty-free background music]

8
Preferred Length
What length do you need? Consider the primary platform and context. If you need multiple lengths, list them all — it's much more efficient to capture everything in one session.

Primary trailer length: [e.g. 90–120 seconds for YouTube launch]

Additional cuts needed: [e.g. 30-second Discord version / 15-second vertical for TikTok/Reels]

Aspect ratio: [e.g. 16:9 widescreen, or 9:16 vertical for short-form, or both]

10
Timeline / Deadline
Your hard deadline is the launch or publication date. The trailer needs to be finished and approved before then — give yourself a buffer for review rounds.

Server opening date: [Date]

Trailer needed by: [Date — ideally 5–7 days before opening date]

Are there any hard external deadlines? [e.g. Listing submission deadline, event date]

How flexible is this timeline? [e.g. Fixed / Can move by 1 week if needed]

11
What Access Can You Provide
The producer needs footage. The more access and assets you can provide, the better. Be specific about what you can offer.

Server access: [e.g. Can provide server IP + staff rank for recording / World download available / Staged recording session available]

Existing footage: [e.g. We have gameplay clips from testing / Screenshots only / Nothing yet]

Existing screenshots: [e.g. Yes — we can share a Google Drive folder / No]

World download: [e.g. Available / Not available / Available on request]

Lore or narrative documents: [e.g. We have a full lore doc / Basic outline only / No lore]

Branding assets (logo, colors, fonts): [e.g. Full brand kit available / Logo only / None yet]

12
Anything to Avoid
Is there anything the trailer should not include — visually, tonally, or in terms of specific content? This is as important as what you do want.

[e.g. No PvP footage — we want to emphasise the community aspect over combat]

[e.g. Don't show the spawn before it's finished — we're still building it]

[e.g. No meme content — we want this to feel serious and cinematic]

[e.g. Avoid showing the nether — the overworld is our strongest asset]

[e.g. No specific staff members on camera — we prefer anonymous POV]

How to use this template

Copy the template using the button above, paste it into any text editor, and fill in the fields where you see square brackets. Delete the placeholder text as you go. The result is a document you can send directly to any trailer producer — including Orion Productions — when you make an inquiry.

You don't need to answer every field perfectly. If you're unsure about music, say so. If you haven't decided on a length, give a range. An honest "I don't know yet" is much more useful than a forced answer — it helps the producer know what decisions still need to be made.

For a deeper breakdown of what makes each section matter, read the complete Minecraft trailer guide. And if you're planning a full server launch, the 30-item launch checklist covers everything else you'll need to have in place.
